Minneapolis City Trees
Leaf Your Legacy
The spring 2010 Minneapolis City Trees sale has closed. If you've ordered a tree, you can still find information here about pick up and other things to consider.
Things to Consider
- It's the law to call Gopher State One Call - (651) 454-0002 - at least three days before digging. They will mark buried utility lines for your safety.
- You may not plant your tree on the boulevard (between the sidewalk and the street).
- Save money on energy by planting large shade trees on the west or east side of your home and evergreens on the north and west side of your home.
- You will receive a folder containing information about tree planting and care when you pick up your tree.
- In order to reduce future problems, large shade trees (oak, linden, coffee) should be planted at least 30 feet away from nearby power lines, buildings and/or driveways.
- Check out the US Forest Service's Tree Owner's Manual for great information about planting and maintaining trees.
