Celebrating Tree Trust Volunteers During Volunteer Appreciation Month
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and we are deeply grateful to the volunteers in Minnesota who help bring our mission to life!
As planting season ramps up and spring arrives, this year feels like an especially meaningful time to focus on volunteer appreciation in Minnesota, where local action and community care have made a real difference. Tree Trust volunteers play a vital role in improving neighborhoods and natural spaces across the greater Twin Cities area. Countless people have contributed their time and support to Tree Trust over the last half century — people who give with nothing to gain.
But gain, they do! Our volunteers say they gain new skills, learn more about environmental issues, and feel more connected to their community. Turning shared values into visible, lasting change and working side-by-side outdoors fosters a sense of belonging, teamwork, and pride. These shared experiences can be just as valuable as the work itself.
Minnesota volunteers are at the heart of Tree Trust’s mission. The time, energy, and commitment of Tree Trust volunteers helped to plant over 1,000 trees last year alone. Whether planting trees, restoring natural areas, supporting community events, or lending skills behind the scenes, volunteers are an essential part of growing our urban canopy and caring for public spaces.
The Impact of Volunteers in Minnesota
Every tree planted, trail restored, and green space improved reflects the care and effort of people who choose to give back to their community. Tree Trust volunteers contribute more than physical labor. They share their hope and show their care. Their dedication supports environmental stewardship and community well-being, helping create greener, healthier places for both current and future generations. Their work improves air and water quality, strengthens public spaces, promotes healthier and safer communities, and deepens relationships between people and our environment. Appreciating volunteers means recognizing the people who make our work possible and our environment greener.
This Volunteer Appreciation Month, and this week during Volunteer Appreciation Week, we’re reminded to pause and say thank you.
To all Tree Trust volunteers and to people who give with nothing to gain:
– THANK YOU –
Thank you for your dedication, your passion for the environment, and your belief in community action and support. We appreciate your impact all year, now and in the future!
Get Involved
Volunteer Appreciation Month is not only about reflection. It’s also an invitation. If you’ve ever considered getting involved, or maybe it’s the first time you’ve felt called into action, April is a great time to start.
Volunteering with Tree Trust offers flexible opportunities to make a real difference, whether you can give a few hours at a planting event or support ongoing projects throughout the year. Every contribution helps grow healthier landscapes and stronger communities.
