Group Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to engage your group to build teamwork
and improve the environment where you live and work!

During the spring and fall, we partner with groups of all sizes to plant and maintain trees across the Twin Cities. Our spring planting season runs from April through June. We take a break from planting during the summer months and switch to the important work of watering, weeding, and mulching. After Labor Day, we schedule the second half of the planting season, planting trees until the end of October (or the ground freezes-whichever comes first!)

There are several ways to engage your group through volunteering with Tree Trust:

  1. Join us at an existing event! This option is free of charge and perfect for groups of 15 people or less.

  2. Apply for a private tree planting event. Tree Trust has a limited number of planting events for which the site and trees have already been chosen and paid for through grants, foundations, or donations. We just need help putting them in the ground! We offer 4-6 planting events per year in specific areas around the Twin Cities through this opportunity. There is a small fee of $500 associated with this option intended to defray the costs of planning and executing these events. Perfect for groups looking to make a difference and best suited for group sizes 15-50. Please complete the application below.
  3. Apply for a private tree maintenance event. These events typically occur in the summer months and help keep our newly planted trees happy and healthy! There is a small fee of $250 associated with this option. Perfect for groups sized 15-50 with a small window of time available to help make a big impact! Please complete the application below.
  4. Apply to sponsor an event! If you would like to “leaf” a legacy on your community where you live and/or work, complete the application below and one of our staff will contact you as soon as possible with details.
