Inspiring Community Building through HOPE
Inspired leaders transform communities. When our youth participants courageously change their lives, they often become beacons of hope to their peers. Tree Trust YouthBuild teaches young people the skills to catapult themselves into family-supporting skilled trade and green industry vocations. Our curriculum encompasses the duality of work and life skills. Youth learn the importance of work site safety, how to effectively use different tools and equipment, and life skills like financial literacy and conflict resolution. We empower youth to move forward in life with confidence as well-rounded individuals. During her time as a Tree Trust YouthBuild participant, Chucky learned how a supportive environment can foster personal development leading to new ventures and opportunities. She honed the skillset to create a brighter future for herself and her family. Chucky took what she learned and paid it forward to her community.

Inspiring Peers
Chucky’s time at Tree Trust transformed her life in many ways. In addition to deciding to finish high school and pursue a career in the skilled trades, she started her own small business. Chucky wanted to share her new positive perspective with her community and applied her new skills in a creative way. With the money she earned from her training, she bought a heat press machine to adhere graphics to clothing. She designed a positive message and constructed her own brand of clothing. Chucky’s fashion line H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Elevate) mirrors the leadership training she received at Tree Trust. Learning how great leaders inspire through empowerment, Chucky reciprocated this affirmation of hope to her community of peers, building community through this endeavor.

Tree Trust could not do this important work without generous donors investing in young people. Career Pathway programs train the next generation of leaders in the green and skilled trades industries, offering vocations with family-supporting wages. Many youth participants move forward from Tree Trust’s programming with important leadership skills like purpose, hard work, ingenuity, and entrepreneurism.
