Community Tree Planting: Let’s Get Growing
As the seasons shift and the weather warms up, our urban tree canopy comes to life with the joyful sounds of nature. Birds are twittering, squirrels are chattering, and it’s clear—tree season is just around the corner! Tree Trust is thrilled to help you bring some green into your space with tree sales across the Twin Cities metro area. Not only can you purchase a tree conveniently close to home, but you’ll also get access to a wide selection of high-quality trees at a fantastic discount.
Before you pick out your perfect tree, there are a few key things to consider that will help your tree thrive for years to come.
Right Tree – Right Space
Looking for a cool, shaded spot to relax on a warm day? Under a shade tree is the place to be. Trees offer endless benefits—beauty, cleaner air, better water filtration, and a habitat for wildlife. But choosing the right tree is important, and it all starts with matching your tree to its ideal environment.
Soil Condition
Do you want a tree that provides a shady retreat, colorful fall foliage, or maybe even fresh fruit? Different trees come with different perks, and some require more maintenance than others. It’s important to think about your tree’s needs in terms of sun exposure and soil type. If your soil is sandy and rocky, or dense and compact, it will influence how well your tree grows. A quick soil inspection or an easy soil pH test can help you understand what kind of tree your soil can support.
Sunlight
All trees need some amount of sunlight to grow. Every tree relies on the sun to create energy for growth, a process called photosynthesis. Some trees prefer full sunlight, while others thrive in full shade to partial sunlight. A little research into the amount of sunlight your tree needs will help you choose the perfect planting space for optimal growth.
Room to Grow
Space is another big factor to consider. Trees grow—some faster than others—so be sure to think about the tree’s size when it reaches full maturity. Make sure you’re giving it plenty of room to spread out, grow tall, and thrive, without crowding other plants or structures.
With the right tree in the right spot, you’ll have a lush, healthy addition to your yard for years to come! Ready to plant? Let’s get started! Keep reading to learn all about our spring tree sales.
