St. Louis Park Tree Sale

Reforest the City

The tree canopy of St. Louis Park's private properties is dwindling. For every new tree residents plant, five more trees are lost to storms, pests, and disease. The presence in Minnesota of emerald ash borer, an invasive pest that has the potential to wipe out all our ash trees, makes it even more critical to start planting tomorrow’s trees today.

In 2010 the City of St. Louis Park has teamed up with Tree Trust to make it affordable for you to reforest your own yard. Please do your part to restore the city's tree canopy by planting one of these trees this spring.

Things to Consider

  • Only residents of St. Louis Park are eligible to participate in this program. If you're looking for the Minneapolis City Trees sale, click here.
  • You may order a maximum of two trees.
  • It's the law to call Gopher State One Call - (651) 454-0002 - at least three days before digging. They will mark buried utility lines for your safety.
  • You may not plant your tree on the boulevard (between the sidewalk and the street).
  • In order to reduce future problems, large shade trees (oak, birch and maple) should be planted at least 30' away from nearby power lines, buildings, and or driveways.
  • On March 30, 2010 at 7:00 PM, the City of St. Louis Park will host a tree workshop at City Hall, 5005 Minnetonka Blvd. To register, please contact Jim Vaughan at (952) 924-2699.
  • A brochure detailing proper tree-planting methods will be available when you pick up your tree.
  • Order before Friday, March 12, 2010. Quantities are limited.
