Community Support Program – Adults

Becoming a part of the Community Support Program is a great way for people receiving MFIP assistance to gain valuable job skills, add work experience to their resume, and find employment.

  • Program Description

Placement counselors connect participants to unpaid work experiences at host sites throughout the Twin Cities to invest in and strengthen the community as a whole. Participants gain job experience in the areas of administrative assistance, childcare, customer service, retail, landscaping, food service, housekeeping and healthcare. Please contact David Tranvik at 612-214-5921 to get started or for more information.

Tree Trust is committed to safety. Click here to learn more about Tree Trust’s response to COVID-19.

  • Eligibility Guidelines

To be eligible for the Community Support Program program, you must be:

    • A parent over the age of 18
    • A resident of Minneapolis or suburban Hennepin County
    • Currently receiving assistance through the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
    • Eligible to work in the US
  • How to Become an Employment Host Site

Tree Trust works with host sites, including businesses, nonprofits and government agencies, to provide a variety of work experiences for our adult program participants. Host sites are responsible to train and guide these individuals in what is typically their first job. The participant and host site supervisor have the support and guidance of Tree Trust staff every step of the way. Work experiences typically last 9-12 weeks. Please contact Shannon Sullivan at 612-508-0292 if you are interested in providing an employment experience to an adult.
